Inka Bell (b. 1981, Finland) is a visual artist working exploratively with form making. She holds an MFA from the Academy of Fine Arts at University of The Arts Helsinki from 2021. In her practice, Bell works in the expanded field of printmaking. Through material, colour, surface, and repetition, she explores the relationship between the two- and three-dimensional in abstract, geometrical compositions. Paper plays a central role in her work, which she uses for printing or shaping new forms. Typical for her practice is a dialogue with a machine, whether being a computer to create a matrix, or a tool that enables her to work the material in a way that she could not achieve with her bare hands. In the end, it is her hands that revise what the machine has shaped. Her works have been featured in several exhibitions both in Scandinavia and internationally.
Bell lives and works in Helsinki (FI).
