How and where was the print made?
Rytz: Having made a couple of silkscreen print abroad mostly from digital files i was exited to get a chance to print with Zven from Cultpump Powerhouse which i knew was up for making a print with a more handmade approach In a time where everything is being computerized to death, and as i suspected , this was satifying. I am grateful that Zven was up for the task and let me handcolor the film and do everything backwards and just go with the flow and try to make those failures fruitful.
Tell us about the motive..
Rytz: I played with the idea of a somewhat sloppy playful line. One where things not necessarily looked exactly as expected or might just look like a whimsical doodle or how a object could look like. It's a drawing of a slain knight, a totemlike geenie in a pot, an anti-hero image...
Michael Rytz (f.1975) is a self-thought artist and illustrator. He has a steady hand, and a big passion for old paper with a patina. He also paint and do collages. He has illustrated for Euroman, The Guardian and Politiken to name a few. In 2016 Rytz did his first solo show at Limited Works, and in the summer of 2017 Limited Works published the book "Running through The Woods in a velcro suit" documenting the private artist books of Rytz
