ABOUT THE WORK
Inspired by the trance-like state one can fall into while looking at images, Danish artist Nicky Sparre-Ulrich has created a new art edition titled Hypnagogia*. Comprised of a series of unique works on paper constructed by multiple layers of images and printing techniques - digital and handcrafted alike. In these works the artist explores the state between reality and dream through the pictorial and aesthetically space between figuration and abstraction.
*Hypnagogia is the transitional state from wakefulness to sleep – a ‘grey zone state of consciousness’ often seen as the bridge between reality and dream.
Limited Works and Nicky Sparre-Ulrich has immortalized 44 works from the Hypnogogia series in a book (limited edition of 100 hand numbered copies) You can buy it HERE
